Peace Education (in Palestinian Schools)
Funded by the EU The aim of ‘Peace Education’ program is to provide Palestinian youth and their educators with values of peace, non-violence, human rights, democracy and tools for non-violent conflict resolution. At the same time, the action aims to provide a safe environment for critical discussion on subjects concerning the political situation, such as the future of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, a Palestinian state, borders, refugees, settlements, etc. The target group is Palestinian youth (age 15 to 16) and their educators from different towns and villages, especially remote areas, throughout the West Bank and Gaza, if possible The main activities will be workshops in 20 schools - 20 hours for teachers and counsellors, 30 hours for students. There will be a variety of interactive activities, providing new tools and offering critical discussions. The workshops will be conducted by CCRR’s director, an expert in conflict resolution, and the organisation’s freelance trainers/facilitators from the different geographic areas. Program objectives:
The program will last for 2 year, workshops will conducted in 20 schools (10 in the first and 10 in the second year of the program) in marginalized areas of the West Bank providing youth and their teachers with values of peace, non-violence, human rights, and democracy, tools for solving conflicts non-violently, and communication and dialogue skills, empowering the participants of the educational system and the civil society at large in order to creatively shape their relationships and lives in a democratic and peaceful way and allowing free and safe political discuions concerning the future of the conflict and the situation in the region.....
