Due to the outbreak of the Intifada, it was not possible to continue
with the program. Unfortunately, the Intifada made it impossible to
carry out a proper behavior survey that could have helped to optimize
the program. It proved to be very successful to conduct the workshops in
a participatory fashion and to give the members of the security forces
room to speak out. We did not have the opportunity to thoroughly
evaluate the program. However, CCRR received a lot of positive feedback,
which is why we consider the training of security personnel as one of
the most important and most successful CCRR training programs. The
center is planning to start training security personnel again as soon as
the situation allows this.
With regard to future programs, we are thinking about training
sessions that bring security men in direct contact with the public.
Furthermore, we are contemplating about discussing the merits of Sulha
vs. the rule of written law. Last but not least, we are planning to
establish solid evaluation criteria for the program.
