Training Seeds-of-Peace
Activists
Together with the Israeli “Centre for Mediation” (CfM), CCRR hold
training sessions about Conflict Management. The training introduces
conflict resolution (CCRR) and mediation techniques (CfM) for
participants of “Seeds of Peace” (SOP). The training directly tackles
the question of the sustainability of peace work:
20 participants from Israeli and Arab
universities who met seven to eight years ago in a summer peace camp
organized by Seeds of Peace attend the meetings. The students have not
been able to stay in contact due to the continuing closures on the West
Bank and due to the general situation.
SOP decided to hold the workshop in order to give the students the tools
and skills that will help them to renew their relationship. Stronger
contacts between the peoples will serve peace and increase the
effectiveness of peace camps.
The training consists of 100 training hours
divided into 14 sessions which take place each Thursday evening. The
program is especially important for the CCRR because it will help us to
learn more about the long-term effects of our work.
