Who we are

The Center for Conflict Resolution and Reconciliation (CCRR) is a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) registered with the Palestinian National Authority (PNA) since September 2000. CCRR works on two main tracks. On the first track, the Center focuses on the Palestinian society. On the second track, CCRR works on various regional and international levels with individuals and organizations who subscribe to CCRR’s mission statement.

CCRR is an independent organization and neither affiliated with nor dependant on any political party. The profiles of our broad-based Board of Trustees and of our Advisory Board reflect CCRR's independence. The board members share a commitment to the CCRR. Notwithstanding their shared belief in CCRR’s mission statement and values, the board members are of different religious creeds and political convictions. In addition, CCRR's board members have different professional backgrounds and come from different regions (Bethlehem, Hebron, Ramallah and Jericho areas).

They meet twice a year to discuss the reports the director of CCRR is required. The Board approves the reports submitted by CCRR and appoints the director of CCRR, who serves as the executive manager of the organization. Besides the Board of Trustees, there are CCRR’s National Advisory Board and CCRR’s International Advisory Board that both keep in touch with the managing director. As of December 2004, the CCRR staff counts six full-time workers.

CCRR offers most of its Conflict Resolution workshops through a network of freelance trainers, which helps in keeping the organization small and efficient. A variety of participatory measures ensure that the trainers and also the participants of the courses can influence the development of CCRR’s programs.
