Introduction

Despite all obstacles, CCRR will continue to speak to Palestinians, Israelis and the Western world with one voice, tirelessly working for a just peace. This work can not be done without direct talks between Is­raelis and Palestinians on the grass root level. Yet, reconciliation between the two peoples will not be easy.

The CCRR believes in reconciliation as a long term goal. Concerning the direct encounters between the two peoples, it is impor­tant to stress that the Center is not negotiating politics, but facilitating encoun­ters.

However, it is important to stress that the CCRR as a Palestinian organization is not neutral. It is a Palestinian organization working for Palestini­ans. Believing in non-violence as a key value in life, the center promotes non-violent methods of resisting the occupation as an alternative to the armed strug­gle.
