Starting on July 15, 2008, CCRR held its 2nd annual "Know your
Country" summer camp. The children were introduced to several places
in Palestine, often for the first time.
They had the opportunity to visit the Jenin camp where learned of
the tragedy that took place there, and also efforts to help
children's lives at the Jenin Freedom Theatre. The children also
visited Nablus and went to the center for the martyr Salah Khalaf
Fara and participated in exercises and activities, and had a tour of
old town Nablus. They also spent time in Hebron and Bethlehem.
The camp lasted for 10 days and was filled with various activities
and events. At the closing ceremony, the participants showed off
their skills and presented many different traditional dabka and
Western dances and skits. They also presented some pictures of a few
highlights of the camp, showcasing all that they did during the 10
days.
The camp was a huge success and at the end, and the participants
forged wonderful friendships that will last beyond the camp.
