The Tree of Hope Magazine

In the course of the Young Negotiators Program, CCRR secured additional funding to print and to develop a magazine on non-violence and conflict resolution starting in 2003. The magazine is distributed in schools, making CCRR's work at schools more sustainable. Also, each magazine comes with a feedback form. This allows us to evaluate our work and to quantify the feedback we get.

CCRR published the first issue of the magazine – called "Tree of Hope" – discussing the relation of media and peace. The magazine introduced non-violent role models such as Steve Bisko and dwelled on the plot of the film "Cry for Freedom". Then, Ahmad Subuh, Deputy Minister of Education, answered questions developed in close cooperation with CCRR's Youth Committee.

Developing the magazine CCRR's Youth Committee served as a focus group, making the magazine an attractive reading for its target group. In order to spread hope, CCRR introduces Palestinian and international organizations committed to the idea of non-violence.

We experienced that the magazine is especially popular in villages. We print the magazine in high quality, and we are committed to continue doing so.
